Purpose

Established in 1965, the Nursery School is a part of the Church's Community Outreach program. It is designed to meet the pre-school needs of children for social and learning experiences at their level of achievement and interest. The School is a part of the total Christian Education program of the Church, but is not sectarian or denominational in emphasis. Our goals include building the child's self-confidence using positive reinforcement and age appropriate activities. For four year olds, classroom activities will build on Kindergarten readiness, both social and academic.

Program

Children are grouped according to age.

Each day's schedule includes structured activities as well as free play-time in both the classroom and our large playroom settings. The children will work with a wide variety of art materials, enjoy music, and have opportunities for listening and talking. Creative play, language arts, and positive social interactions are strongly encouraged, along with other traditional pre-school academics.

During our more than 40 years of service, the School has acquired an extensive library of children's books, as well as other teaching materials and play equipment.

The School provides two evening opportunities for parents: Parent Information Night in October, and Conferences in March. However, teachers are always available to talk with parents about any concern pertaining to their child.
